Our Providers

Our founder, Dr. Keith Collins, grew up in Jefferson Parish, attended De La Salle High School and graduated as valedictorian in 1987.  He graduated from Boston University in biomedical engineering in 1991.  After working as a computer programmer for 5 years he returned to school and received his medical degree from LSU- New Orleans in 2000.  Dr. Collins finished his Pediatric Residency at LSU-New Orleans in 2003 and joined a group practice in Metairie.  In April 2005, he started Collins Pediatrics.  Dr. Collins passed away in his home, surrounded by his family, after a short battle with Cholangiocarcinoma at the young age of 45 on August 29, 2015. He was married to Jennifer and had six children: Caroline, Andrew, Julianne, Analiese, Christian and Kyle.

Dr. Heather Porche grew up in Jefferson Parish, attended Archbishop Chapelle High School, and graduated valedictorian in 1997. She graduated from Tulane University in 2000 and received her medical degree from LSUHSC-Shreveport in 2004. She completed her Pediatric Residency at LSUHSC-New Orleans in 2007. Dr. Porche began her career with Collins Pediatrics in August, 2007. Prior to his passing, Dr. Keith Collins personally chose Dr. Porche to continue his legacy. She acquired the practice in January, 2016. She has three daughters, Raegan, Makinley, and Kennedy.

Nurse Practitioner Lisa Gunter grew up in Kenner, LA attended Archbishop Chapelle High School and graduated with honors in 1997. She graduated from the University of New Orleans in 2002 with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. She received her nursing degree from Charity School of Nursing in 2007 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Lafayette in 2015. Lisa also received her Master’s in Nursing, APRN specializing in Acute Care Pediatrics from the University of South Alabama in 2018. Lisa was a Registered Nurse at Collins Pediatrics throughout 2019. Dr. Lisa completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in May 2020. She is married to Ryan Gunter and they have two children, Raegan and Logan.
